Roles have included managing director of various functions in financial services, managing partner of a seed stage venture fund, COO of a global music company, and head of management and budget at the US Social Security Administration. Currently chair of two early stage companies and serving on nonprofit boards. Past service on the Alumni Board of HBS and on the board of a community college.
Richard Kane, MBA 1968. Environment & Health Committee Co-Chair.
The CAO of the American Red Cross in Greater NY until retirement early in 2011. Now involved in providing advisory services to early stage companies and continuing leadership roles in projects for HBSCNY. Richard had a long pre Red Cross career in the financial services industry. He was the CEO of a start-up platform for insurance agents, the CEO of the Global Services Division of reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter and held earlier senior management positions at Bank Leumi and Citicorp. Richard is the immediate past president of HBSCNY and member of its Board. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of HBS Angels NY.

Now an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College, div. of CUNY, in the Department of Management. Since 1976, has served as Board Member, advisor or consultant to several nonprofit organizations in fields of performing arts and education. Currently chairing a subcommittee of the Harvard College Schools Committee.
