NYAS, a premier scientific organization, is seeking to revise its marketing strategy to increase its paid membership base and identify sources of additional revenue.

The mission of the New York Academy of Sciences is to drive innovative solutions to society’s challenges by advancing scientific research, education, and policy. To drive scientific progress, the Academy hosts over 150 conferences & symposia annually, connecting experts across sectors, disciplines, and national boundaries. From primary school to leadership roles in the workplace, Academy programs and initiatives help to build a better STEM pipeline. The continued success of Academy programs depends upon the engagement and support of an amazing global network of partner institutions, funders, and Members.

Project: Strategy

Volunteers will first assess NYAS current membership pricing and growth strategy, taking into account the practices of competing organizations. leading to possible alternative strategies to increase the membership base.
In the course of their analysis, the group may also discover opportunities for additional unrestricted revenue streams for NYAS.

The objective of the project is to:

  • Analyze Competitive Space with regard to membership practices.
  • Revise Membership Pricing and Messaging Strategies if necessary.
  • Identify Alternative Revenue Streams.
