Nonprofit: NYC Outward Bound Schools

In its 30 years of existence, NYC Outward Bound Schools has broadened educational horizons for more than 200,000 young people.

The organization aims to transform schools and change the lives of young people through fostering a strong sense of community and belonging for students along with challenging and engaging learning. Its focus is on schools and students in low income communities.

NYC Outward Bound Schools’ high impact approach is bringing greater equity to New York’s public schools and is helping to prepare students for success in college, careers, and citizenship. It is working to redefine educational excellence in NYC.

Project: Growth Strategy

Believing ​ that social and emotional growth and intellectual development go hand in hand, NYC Outward Bound stresses adventure, joy, and challenge as catalysts for personal growth. To expand its roster of schools, while offering all students exposure to its renowned outdoor and adventure programs, the organization needs help in assessing viable paths for growth.

1) Generate and evaluate a robust set of options for expanding outdoor programs in the context of seasonality and other operational constraints
