SPNM guides nonprofit Executive Directors and CEOs as they explore proactive methods for mastering nonprofit leadership in uncertain times. HBS faculty and approximately 140 nonprofit leaders from around the world challenge participants to strengthen their ability to improve the effectiveness of their organizations. Through case studies of a diverse set of nonprofits, participants gain an invaluable understanding of the core concepts crucial to nonprofit leadership. This newfound insight will enable nonprofit leaders to develop customized strategies as well as effective implementation plans.

This program delivers the strategic perspectives, practical frameworks, and leadership skills you need to drive high performance across the organization. You will leave prepared to take decisive action and create a more responsive, successful, and sustainable nonprofit organization.

Note: Transportation to and from Boston is the responsibility of the applicant.

Eligibility

  1. An applicant must be the leader of his or her nonprofit organization (CEO, President, ED, or the equivalent).
  2. The nonprofit should be located in and focus its activities around the Greater New York Metropolitan area. National or international non-profits will be considered if they are headquartered in the Greater New York Metropolitan area.
  3. The nonprofit budget should be at least $1 million.
  4. The nonprofit should have five or more full-time employees and have been fully operational with full-time staff for at least one year.
  5. Not appropriate for: Industry or trade associations, foundations, management support organizations, or consulting firms.

  1. Complete, download, and sign the SPNM Application Form.
  2. Upload your application directly to the HBS Club of NY Community Partners through this Online Application Link. Do not submit your application to the Harvard Business School directly since it will not then be considered for a scholarship grant.
